War, heroes and monuments - lower secondary school

The online course War, Heroes and Monuments challenges students to create a monument, or a sketch of a monument, and to think about how monuments communicate the values of a time period.

The course is aimed at lower secondary and upper secondary schools, and the subject areas Danish and history. The course deals with cases that have both local and national historical value, demonstrating how existing monuments express heroic values. By looking at the monument as a source of historical knowledge, students learn to read their surroundings in a new way.
